Meet Andy

Heart for Jesus • Loving Husband • Father of Two

Hi, my name is Andy. I grew up in a loving Christian home in Johnstown, Ohio. I attended church regularly and was baptized at the age of 14. At an early age, I had a wonderful Christian foundation to live my entire life for Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, that's not how my life turned out.

At the age of 15, only one year after I was baptized, I was introduced to alcohol and sexually explicit material. Over time Satan began to slowly entice me with alcohol and lust, turning up the intensity in small increments so that I wouldn't notice the spiritual chains he was attaching to me.

I knew what I was doing was a sin, but I didn't think I was hurting anyone. I began to rationalize that it was ok, because my sins were forgiven. I would just sin, then "repent", ask for forgiveness, then do the same all over again days later. That was Satan deceiving me. Satan's goal was to have me slowly walk into addiction without realizing what I was doing. Once he had me deep in addiction, he knew escaping would feel impossible.

By my mid 40s I was completely addicted to alcohol and pornography. My health was failing rapidly, my marriage was in shambles, and I was on the verge of divorce. Satan's goal was in sight, he was ready to pull me away from God, and destroy every relationship I had leaving me lonely, fearful, bitter, angry, unforgiving and completely addicted to sin.

At the age of 47, Jesus performed an undeniable miracle in my life. Jesus broke the chains and completely set me free from addiction. The best way I can describe this, is that Jesus turned the temptation into a choice. I no longer feel alcohol or lust uncontrollably dragging me away against my will, it's now a choice. I know where that choice leads, and trust me, I want no part of it.

I have dedicated the rest of life to tell others what Jesus did for me. I know there are millions of people out there who are suffering in addiction just like I was.
